BookSource has appointed Jonathan Williams as chair, taking over from Joanne Macleod who steps down from the board after nine years.
Williams has 25 years of industry experience and is currently a non-executive director at BookSource and chair of Cumbria-based guidebook publisher, Cicerone Press.
Outgoing chair Macleod commented: “It has been a great privilege to serve as chair and I would like to thank my fellow directors for their support during my tenure. Booksource has gone from strength to strength over this period.
“This was evident by the way the Booksource team rose to the considerable economic and operational challenges of Covid-19 yet continued to thrive. I wish Jonathan and the Booksource team all the very best.”
Williams said of his appointment: “I am excited and honoured to be elected chair. BookSource has a great track record of providing independent publishers with a vital, comprehensive service. I look forward to working with the BookSource team to build on the positive progress achieved by the company in recent years.”
Managing director of BookSource Davinder Bedi said: “On behalf of the board and all of us at BookSource, I would like to thank Joanne for her commitment and drive. I’m pleased to congratulate Jonathan on his promotion to chair. Having served on the board for six years, Jonathan has a firm knowledge of our business, values and strategic objectives. I know his vision and dedication will ensure we are positioned to continue to capture opportunities that lie ahead.”
