Sally Williamson, formerly of HarperCollins, is joining Transworld as senior commissioning editor.
Williamson left HarperCollins’s imprint HQ in June, after 12 years with the company. She has previously been a commissioning editor at Harlequin, where she headed the imprint's Mira list.
She starts in her new role on 7th August and will acquire commercial women’s fiction, reporting to editorial director Francesca Best.
Best said: “Sally has a fantastic commercial eye and established strategic instincts; I know she will be a great asset to the women’s fiction team at a time when our exceptional list is performing better than ever. I’m hugely excited about our ambitious plans for growth, taking on fresh talent and creating bestsellers in the way only Transworld knows how.”
Williamson said: “Having admired Transworld’s publishing prowess for a long time, I’m thrilled to be joining the amazing team there and can’t wait to start acquiring more brilliant books for the list.”
From the beginning of August, Williamson can be contacted at swilliamson@penguinrandomhouse.co.uk.
