W&N hires Lettice Franklin as commissioning editor

Weidenfeld & Nicolson has appointed Lettice Franklin as commissioning editor.

Currently assistant commissioning editor at 4th Estate, Franklin has published, among others, books by Katherine Heiny, Claire Lowdon, Judith Claire Mitchell, Kit Wharton and Rivka Galchen and forthcoming fiction titles from Eleanor Henderson and Chloe Caldwell, as well as working on books by authors such as Joan Didion and Craig Brown.

She also launched 4th Shorts, 4th Estate’s series of A format paperbacks. She will join the W&N team in November.

Kirsty Dunseath, publisher of fiction at Weidenfeld & Nicolson, said: "Lettice has an incredibly smart approach to publishing.
