Arzu Tahsin, previously publishing director at Weidenfeld & Nicolson (W&N), is joining Bonnier Books UK as editor at large for Manilla Press.
From October, Tahsin, who has over 30 years of experience across publishing houses such as Bloomsbury, Vintage, Penguin Random House and Virago, will acquire and commission titles across the literary imprint’s list.
Also development editor at The Good Literary Agency, Tahsin has published bestselling writers such as Khaled Hosseini, Malala Yousafzai, Tea Obreht, Maria Semple, Nathan Englander, Catriona Ward and Harriet Lane.
She said: “I am hugely excited about my new role as editor at large at Bonnier Books UK, working with Margaret Stead. What appeals to me about Bonnier is its fantastic and long-established literary history; it’s also a company with a dynamic contemporary vision and a nimble enough team to move fast when good books come calling."
Stead, the publisher to whom Tahzin will report, added: “I’ve been trying to convince Arzu for a long time to come and work with the team at Manilla Press, and we’re just delighted that she has finally said yes. She is a brilliant reader, editor and publisher, and we are very lucky to have her.”
