The Women’s Prize Trust is widening its branded merchandise range to support its charitable work, which aims to assist emerging writers and to give readers most in-need access to the very best contemporary novels by women.
New products include an illustrated book bag designed in collaboration with award-winning cover designer Holly Ovenden, and two new t-shirts emblazoned with the names of literary legends Agatha Christie and Emily Brontë.
These new products will be predominantly sold through the Women’s Prize online shop, alongside an existing range of t-shirts, mugs, journals, art prints and tote bags. The shop was initially launched during the pandemic to sell a crowd-funded Women’s Prize writing journal. The trust said the shop has enabled it to diversify its income stream, “making it a more sustainable charitable organisation that also champions female creatives across the arts”.
Harriet Hastings, Women’s Prize commercial director, said: “We are really excited to be launching three new Women’s Prize products in advance of this year’s awards ceremony and to be platforming the work of hugely talented female artists. By extending the range and reach of our merchandise we can also continue to build the powerful brand of the Women’s Prize for Fiction.”
