Headline associate publisher Leah Woodburn is leaving the company following a “realignment of reporting lines within the division”, it has been announced.
Woodburn joined Headline as an editorial assistant, going on to publish fiction from authors including Sarah Winman, Penny Vincenzi and Emylia Hall. She co-founded literary imprint Tinder Press with Mary-Anne Harrington in 2013, with recent publications including Sarah Winman’s Costa-shortlisted Tin Man, Sarah Schmidt’s See What I Have Done and The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin.
She said: “I’ve grown up at Headline, and feel lucky to have been able to build my editorial career here. I’m very glad to have had the rare privilege of launching a new imprint from scratch, in the form of Tinder Press, and it will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ll miss my colleagues and authors very much, but I’m looking forward to continuing my career in the book world and feel genuinely excited about what the future might hold.”
Mari Evans, Headline m.d, said: “Leah has been a terrific colleague to many at Headline over her long tenure and she’s always been a huge champion of the Tinder Press list. We wish her well for her future success.”
