Men who have changed the world with kindness will be the subject of a new book from Wren & Rook, an imprint of the Hachette Children’s Group.
The Good Guys: 50 Heroes Who Changed the World with Kindness will tell the stories of men such as David Attenborough, Nelson Mandela, Oskar Schindler and Usain Bolt, as well as lesser-known heroes such as James Harrison, who has spent 50 years donating his rare blood for babies in need.
Written by author and journalist Rob Kemp and illustrated by Paul Blow, The Good Guys will be released in November. "Over the past year the news has been filled with stories of men behaving poorly, and children have noticed," said W&R publishing director Debbie Foy. "We want to reassure boys and girls that there are plenty of positive role models that they can look up to."
The publisher signed world rights directly from the author. Art director Laura Hambleton signed the illustration deal through Stuart Whitton at the Handsome Frank Illustration Agency.
