Ben Wright will join HarperCollins in April as international sales director, leaving his post of group international sales director at Hachette.
Wright will report to group sales director Anna Derkacz with both the affiliate and export sales team reporting into him. He will take up his role in early April.
Derkacz said: “I have long been a fan of Ben. He has a huge amount of experience and a deep understanding and knowledge of retail and publishing industries across the globe. I have no doubt that with Ben’s vision and fresh perspective we will drive our international sales to achieve even greater success. I am delighted that he will be joining HarperCollins.”
Wright said: “After four and a half enjoyable years at Hachette, now seems like the right time to take on a fresh challenge. HarperCollins’ UK publishing is the envy of the market at the moment and I am looking forward to playing my part in translating this growth into worldwide success and working with an exceptional group of publishers and colleagues, some of whom I have had the great fortune to work with at other points in my career."
Wright has more than 20 years publishing sales experience, starting his career at Pan Macmillan in 1997 before moving to Random House (later PRH). He joined Hachette in 2014 where he was responsible for sales of the Hachette Group’s global English language adult, children’s and illustrated publishing to all non-domestic markets, India and South Africa
