Writers House literary agency in the US has announced the closure of its UK office, with UK operations being taken in-house.
Writers House literary agency said as a consequence Angharad Kowal - who has been the managing director of Writers House UK since 2009 - has left the company.
Kowal told The Bookseller she was going independent instead. "I'm setting up my own agency and am thrilled that my clients are coming with me. I will be actively looking to expand my client list,” she said.
Peggy Boulos Smith has meanwhile joined Writers House’s main office in New York as UK rights director, selling the agency’s adult clients in the global English market outside the US.
Meanwhile Cecilia de la Campa, the agency’s director of children’s subsidiary rights, will handle the UK children’s business directly.
