Cornish independent audiobook platform xigxag has signed the National Literacy Trust’s vision for literacy business pledge in a bid to help close the literacy gap among children in the UK.
Kelli Fairbrother, xigxag’s c.e.o, said: “Our mission at xigxag has always been to make reading more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”
“By joining the Literacy Trust Business Pledge, we are reinforcing our commitment to improving literacy and accessibility and taking a significant step towards helping children across the UK improve their literacy skills and change their stories for the better.”
Jonathan Douglas, chief executive of the National Literacy Trust, said: “We are delighted that xigxag has signed this year’s vision for literacy business pledge and committed to taking action where they can have the biggest impact on raising literacy levels through their business.”
More than 100 UK businesses have already signed the pledge "to give more children and young people from disadvantaged communities the literacy tools they need to thrive, empowering our future workforce and driving a more equal society through literacy".
