The Bookseller has opened submissions for the YA Book Prize 2019.
The £2,000 award, now in its fifth year, aims to recognise the best YA novel written by a British or Irish author published in this calendar year.
Last year’s gong went to Will Hill for his novel inspired by the Waco siege, After the Fire (Usborne Publishing). Previous winners include debut books by Louise O’Neill and Patrice Lawrence.
To be eligible, books must be aimed at readers aged 16-24 and written by an author resident in the UK or Ireland. Self-published titles are not eligible and entries must be made by publishers.
Each publisher is allowed to enter up to four titles per imprint or company and the closing date for submissions is Friday 7th December.
Full entry details and terms and conditions can be found on the YA Book Prize website.
