The YA Book Prize 2022, which aims to recognise the best Young Adult fiction from the UK and Ireland, is now open for entries.
The £2,000 award is run by The Bookseller magazine in partnership with The Edinburgh International Book Festival. This year’s prize is open to titles published in 2021 that are aimed at readers aged 16 to 24 and written by an author resident in the UK or Ireland. Self-published books are not eligible and entries must be made by publishers. Each publisher is allowed to enter up to four titles per imprint or company.
A shortlist of 10 titles will be revealed in June. A ceremony announcing the winner will take place on Thursday 25th August at The Edinburgh International Book Festival.
Last year’s award went to Alice Oseman for her story about a teenager who realises that she is aromantic and asexual, Loveless (HarperCollins Children’s Books). Previous winners include Juno Dawson, Louise O’Neill and Patrice Lawrence.
More information, including full entry details and terms and conditions, can be found on the new-look YA Book Prize website.
