Yale University Press London (YUP) has partnered with the Glassboxx app, as it celebrates 50th anniversary year, accompanied by a major website relaunch.
The collaboration with e-books provider Glassboxx will enable readers to download titles through the Yale University Press app on iOS, Android and desktop computers.
“This will allow the publisher to cultivate a more direct relationship with e-book customers, offering scope for customised price promotions and an efficient route for academics to request and receive e-book inspection copies,” YUP said.
The press is celebrating 50 years of publishing in London and has unveiled a major redesign of its website at www.yalebooks.co.uk. This is the product of a two-year collaboration between its in-house marketing team and website and e-commerce solutions provider Supadu, which also redeveloped the publisher’s US site.
The relaunch of both sites has enabled a consistency in appearance and functionality. As well as providing a more flexible showcase for major trade titles, the redeveloped site also "puts academic communities at the heart of its offering", the press said. It also provides a more customisable platform that will enable the publisher to create a home for its series brands.
Heather McCallum, m.d. of the publisher, said: “In our 50th year we are thrilled to have a brand new website to showcase our brilliant books and authors and to invite new readers to experience our world class lists in non-fiction, especially the Arts and Humanities. The site provides an easy journey for both trade and academic customers, highlights the exceptional quality of our books and enables us to reach a wider audience with every title.
“We are especially pleased to be able to deliver e-books directly from our own app and we are looking forward to building on this further, having plans for rapid growth across both direct consumer and institutional customers.”
