Zebralution, a provider of digital distribution and marketing solutions audiobooks, music and podcasts, has acquired a majority stake in Open Publishing GmbH, a software provider and publishing service provider for the distribution of e-books and print-on-demand products.
Zebralution GmbH is acquiring 80% of the shares in Open Publishing GmbH. Dr Julius Mittenzwei will continue to lead the company in his current role as managing partner while Tina Jürgens, co-CEO of Zebralution GmbH, will be appointed to the management of Open Publishing.
This acquisition provides customers of both companies with access to services for the production, marketing and international distribution of their audio content, e-books, and print-on-demand products. The collaboration will also result in integrated digital infrastructure solutions to “make publishing processes more efficient and increase reach and revenue in distribution”.
Mittenzwei said: “The partnership with Zebralution is a significant step. It opens up new opportunities for us to expand our services and strengthen our market position. I look forward to shaping the future of Open Publishing together with the entire team.”
Ralf Biesemeier, managing director of digital publishing at Zebralution, added: “In a dynamically changing media landscape, market expansion, customer engagement, visibility and conversion are perhaps more important than ever. We need solutions that ensure we reach our target audiences in relevant channels and engage them in a way that drives purchase motivation. Together with Open Publishing, we will develop impactful products.”
