Rosie Revere, Engineer, a bestselling picture book about a girl who dreams of becoming an engineer, will be turned into a series of chapter books this autumn by the publisher Abrams.
In Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters, Rosie teams up with the Raucous Riveters, a team of girls to help build aeroplanes during World War Two. Written by Andrea Beaty and illustrated by David Roberts, who created the original picture book, the title is due for release in the UK on 2nd October.
Abrams also plans to turn the other books in the series, Iggy Peck, Architect and Ada Twist, Scientist, into chapter books and will call the series The Questioneers. The editor will be Tamar Brazis, editorial director of Abrams Books for Young Readers in the US.
“Iggy, Rosie and Ada have delighted and inspired readers everywhere with their boundless curiosity and can-do spirit” said Andrew Smith, senior vice president and publisher of Abrams Children’s Books. “We’re thrilled that their millions of fans will now have more adventures to look forward to as the world of the Questioneers expands in this all-new chapter book series.”
The company is planning a marketing campaign for Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters which includes a new Questioneers.com website, advertising, retail promotion and a large social media presence.
