High street chain Jigsaw to publish charity anthology

Yomi Adegoke, Lindsey Hilsum and Emma Gannon are among a host of women writers contributing to a charity anthology published by high street fashion chain Jigsaw.

Content agency Sonder & Tell asked writers to contribute essays, letters and stories on unfamiliar themes. The resulting book, Comfort Zones, will be launched on 30th April in bookshops and online.

Money raised from the publication will go to Women for Women International, a humanitarian organisation supporting female war survivors.  

The publisher explains: “Broadcaster Lindsey Hilsum says goodbye to her late friend Marie Colvin in a heartfelt letter, journalist Emma Gannon reflects on the life lessons she has learned at the age of 30, while author Poorna Bell details her path to finding happiness in her own company. Elsewhere, Mina Holland of the Guardian considers her relationship with her parents on the eve of becoming a mother, and novelist Elizabeth Day considers the meaning of success."

Jigsaw said it wanted to publish the book “to reflect the wider, cultural interests of its predominantly women customers, showing that fashion doesn’t operate in a bubble”.
