Adele Parks has struck a film deal with the producers of a series of hit Netflix franchises.
The first book to be adapted will be Parks’ recent Sunday Times bestseller Just My Luck (HQ) – out in paperback on 10th December — followed by 2019 novel Lies Lies Lies (HQ).
The deal, likely to be for a streaming service, was signed with producer Brad Krevoy's MPCA firm and AJ Riach's UK-based Engage Productions. Parks is represented by Luke Speed and Jonny Geller at Curtis Brown.
The producers are behind a number of successful Netflix shows including “The Princess Switch” and its sequel. The pair are currently producing “A Castle For Christmas” for the streaming giant.
Parks told Deadline: “From the moment I met both AJ and Brad and the team at MPCA I knew I found the perfect people to adapt my novels for the screen. Their brilliant vision, extraordinary energy, and business acumen make me feel confident that they will deliver what my fans have been desperate for, for so long — credible, punchy, entertaining, edge-of-your-seat adaptations. I couldn’t be more excited about this collaboration.”
Krevoy added: “We are very excited about the opportunity to work with Adele and turn her bestselling novels into fan-favorite movies! We’re confident that these projects are perfect for both the UK and US markets and will be worldwide successes.”
