Sphere is publishing two new novels from Alex Marwood, author of The Wicked Girls.
Publisher and executive director Catherine Burke agreed a deal for UK & Commonwealth (excluding Canada) and including audio with Laetitia Rutherford of Watson, Little.
According to Burke, the books on the new contract - as yet untitled - will "continue to be full of Alex’s intense psychological insight and ripped-from-the-headlines storylines". The first will be published in early 2018.
Marwood’s most recent novel, The Darkest Secret, publishes as a paperback in June this year after an early e-book edition was Little, Brown Book Group’s "fastest ever requested title" on NetGalley. It tells the story of a little girl who goes missing during a family celebration.
Burke said: "Alex Marwood is an author at the very top of her game and it is an absolute joy to publish her novels. Nominated for multiple crime writing awards, as well as winning quite a few too, Alex is nothing short of brilliant."
The author, a British journalist, has writen thrillers under the pseudonym Alex Marwood since 2012, a choice made to distinguish her work after writing romantic comedies under her real name Serena Mackesy previously. She is an Edgar and Macavity Award winner whose novels have been translated into 16 languages. She is published by Penguin in the US.
