Bloomsbury General has acquired Right Place, Right Time by Ali McNamara, who was previously published by Sphere.
Publishing director Darcy Nicholson bought world English-language rights, including audio, to Right Place, Right Time and one untitled novel from Hannah Ferguson at Hardman Swainson, and the book will be published in Summer 2025.
The synopsis states: "It tells the story of Eve, the owner of a small antiques business who, in a bid to save her shop, has taken on an enormous and overwhelming house clearance. It’s not just the scale of the job but Adam, the infuriating and impatient grandson of the deceased – he’s every inch her opposite and every inch in her way. But neither Eve nor Adam know that Adam’s grandfather chose Eve to take on his possessions for a reason. It’s finally the right place and the right time for the two of them to meet, but why?"
Nicholson said: "It is an unbridled joy to be working with Ali and Hannah again. An Ali McNamara novel promises to intrigue, to uplift and to deliver that little bit of something special, too. She and her writing are utterly unique in the market and the whole team here is looking forward to bringing this and future novels to readers old and new."
McNamara commented: "After 15 wonderful years with Sphere, during which time we published 15 novels together, it’s time for something new! I enjoyed working with Darcy immensely when she was my editor at Sphere, so when the chance came up to work with her again at Bloomsbury, it was a no-brainer! Bloomsbury is such an iconic name in publishing, and has such a rich history, so I’m excited to begin working with the team."
