Simon & Schuster UK has acquired The Neuro Plan, a nutrition and lifestyle plan for helping to prevent Alzheimer’s and building a healthier brain, to be published in spring 2018.
Claudia Connal, editorial director non-fiction at Simon & Schuster UK, acquired UK and Commonwealth rights from Chandler Crawford at the Chandler Crawford Agency on behalf of Doug Abrams at Idea Architects, Inc.
Written by Dr Dean Sherzai and Dr Ayesha Sherzai, neurologists and co-directors of the Alzheimer’s Prevention Programme at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, the book is based on the authors’ "ground-breaking" clinical trials into Alzheimer’s prevention.
Connal said: "Dr Dean Sherzai and Dr Ayesha Sherzai have crafted an effective and accessible nutrition, exercise and lifestyle plan. This is a timely and much-needed publication."
Abrams added: "There is so much ground-breaking science here by two of the world's leading experts on the brain and memory care. Personally, I have found it astounding to learn just how much our cognitive fate is determined by our daily choices. The research in this book is both validated and credible, and takes us to a brave new world where neuroscience and lifestyle intersect. There is an alarming rise in rates of Alzheimer’s and other dementias. This book will be a source of both knowledge and hope for many."
