Amazon Publishing’s science fiction and fantasy imprint, 47North, has signed a new series of books from author James Maxwell.
The series, called The Firewall Trilogy, is set in a wasteland encircled by a wall of fire, and follows two young protagonists as they strive to discover the truth about what lies beyond the edges of their world.
The Firewall Trilogy is due for publication across 2019 and 2020. World English rights in three books were acquired from Jon Elek at United Agents.
Editor Jack Butler said the team at Amazon Publishing "couldn’t be happier" to have landed the "exhilarating" new science-fiction series. "I can’t wait to share the bold universe James has created, which will delight his existing fans, and undoubtedly attract a legion of new ones," he said.
Maxwell has now reach one million readers, according to Amazon Publishing. He commented: "The past five years working with Amazon Publishing in both the UK and the US have been incredible. The editorial team supports my aim to write unique and imaginative series and push the boundaries of fantasy and science fiction. Added to which, I am of course delighted to know that my books with Amazon Publishing have reached a million readers. I’m thrilled to be working with them again on a new trilogy."
