Andersen Press has unveiled the third book in the teen horror series The Ghost Hunter Chronicles by presenter Yvette Fielding, with publication scheduled for September.
Charlie Sheppard bought world rights to The Witches of Pendle in a single book deal directly with Yvette Fielding, with new contracts and publishing across age ranges for children to come in 2024 and into 2025.
The Witches of Pendle draws on the author’s own experiences investigating the Pendle Witch Trials, and what the publisher describes as “her terrifying run-ins with spirits which resulted in her quitting the paranormal sensation ‘Most Haunted’ live on air".
The book’s synopsis reads: “When a new family moves into a house in Pendle, they discover a witch’s bottle filled with curses. Soon the spirits of those accused of witchcraft in the infamous Pendle Witch Trials of 1612 are released, wreaking havoc in the area.
"Eve, Clovis and Tom are enlisted to investigate in their latest and most challenging mission yet. Together with their mentor, Professor Rufus, they must go up against the ghosts of the Pendle witches. But the ghosts are hellbent on possessing the descendants of those who were responsible for their deadly trials. Can the ghost-hunting trio put a stop to the possessions before it’s too late?”
Publication comes as Fielding tours the country in her first-ever live stage show. “Most Haunted The Stage Show” will be at venues across the UK from August 2023 into 2024. Andersen Press will offer fans at select shows an exclusive pre-release of the new book, and an opportunity to meet Fielding and have their books signed.
She said: “I’ve loved writing The Ghost Hunter Chronicles, and had so much fun with the team at Andersen Press crafting some spooky moments for children to enjoy. The Witches of Pendle is full of real-life experiences I’ve had over the years investigating the paranormal, including some truly terrifying hauntings of the Pendle witches themselves. As ever, I hope young people love this book as much as I’ve loved writing it.”
Andersen Press will support the release with a major online marketing and PR campaign, with national TV slots already secured and content planned to tap into the author’s online following.
