Head of Zeus' Aries imprint has signed a two-book deal with American author Alex Finlay, including a book following a family made infamous after the airing of a true crime documentary.
UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, for two titles were acquired by Aries editor Holly Domney from Caspian Dennis and Amberley Lowis at the Abner Stein Agency on behalf of Lisa Erbach Vance at the Aaron Priest Literary Agency.
In Every Last Fear, a family is found dead on holiday and it is down to their surviving son to uncover the truth about their final days. It will be published in March 2021 with Minotaur Books publishing simultaneously in the US. A second untitled novel will follow in March 2022.
Domney welcomed Every Last Fear as "an utterly absorbing read". "I had to force myself to read slowly so I could savour every single page... I’m delighted Alex Finlay’s compulsive read is on Aries’ adventure-filled list."
Finlay commented: "I’m so proud to have Head of Zeus bring Every Last Fear to the UK. At its heart, the novel is about a family, and I’m thrilled to have such an amazing publishing family to get the story out into the world. I look forward to a long relationship with the Aries imprint’s stellar team."
Alex Finlay is the pseudonym of an author who lives in Washington DC.
