Arrow has signed a topical "up lit" novel by Emily Giffin, All We Ever Wanted, about what happens when a compromising photograph of a vulnerable teenage girl goes viral.
The "issue-driven" book has been tipped by the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Jodi Picoult as one of their favourite books of the year having already published in the US where it is a New York Times bestseller.
Publisher for Century and Arrow Books Selina Walker acquired UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights, and will publish as an e-book original immediately, and in paperback in 2019.
Walker said she was "delighted with the acquisition, having long admired Giffin’s novels as well as her ability to create characters from very different backgrounds who are rich and complex and totally true to life. With its emphasis on family secrets and how it’s never too late to change your life around, this novel will resonate with today’s readers, and I’m sure will find plenty of new Emily Giffin fans in the UK".
Giffin said: "I’ve always held great affection for the UK, which is why I chose to move to London after quitting my job as a lawyer. It was there that I wrote my first novel Something Borrowed, my obsession with all things British only growing. So it is with extreme excitement to now be working with the brilliant Selina Walker and her talented team at Arrow Books. Together, we so look forward to sharing my stories with the wonderful readers of Great Britain."
