Audible acquires Bertie's queer trans romance narrated by Knights
Audible has acquired Alex Bertie’s queer trans romance More Me With You, narrated by actor and director Harrison Knights.
Imogen Papworth, content acquisition and partnerships manager, acquired world rights from Silvia Molteni at PFD. It will be released as an Audible Original title globally on 25th June 2023.
More Me With You is described by the publisher as "a story of Jiu Jitsu battles, a beloved French bulldog and ultimately about being true to yourself". It tells the story of Will, a trans man, who is looking for a new start in Bristol when he meets Ben.
The synopsis said: "What starts as unfriendly rivalry grows into friendship and then blossoms into something more… and soon Will and Ben are bonding over their shared love of comic books and loaded burritos. Will feels like he can open up to Ben in a way he never has before.
"Except … there’s one truth Will doesn’t know how to share. How will Ben react if he knows? It’s time for Will to come out with it, even if it changes everything… because the most important person he needs to be true to is himself."
Bertie commented: “In a time where trans people are often the subject of unjust debate and controversy, I’m excited to show the world just how normal we really are, through a universal language: love. From your standard awkward first dates to cringey hook up encounters, the book goes through it all, but from a unique trans perspective. I’ve pulled a lot from my own experiences, so it doesn’t get more accurate than this.”
