Audible has snapped up an exclusive “white-knuckle suspense” thriller from Kindle bestseller Paddy Magrane.
Release on 7th May 2020, Red Desert is set between London, Berlin and Iraq. The company picked up world rights from Giles Milburn at the Madeleine Milburn Literary, TV & Film Agency.
According to the synopsis: “When his girlfriend is violently attacked, Tom’s life falls apart and escape makes perfect sense. Taking a role as a therapist for staff on an oil camp in southern Iraq seems like the perfect solution. But on his arrival, an explosion leaves four men dead. Tom starts to ask questions, and his curiosity soon gets him into trouble. An attack on the camp sees Tom shipped home, where he works with a journalist to continue his investigations. But when the journalist falls beneath a Tube train, Tom is left wondering whether his search for the truth could end in his death, too.”
Paddy Magrane is a psychotherapist, journalist and has hit the Kindle number one spot with his Sam Keddie thrillers.
He said: “I’m thrilled that Red Desert is to be published as an Audible Original. The team got right behind the story and its dark themes from the start and it’s been a joy to work with them along the way. I’m absolutely delighted with the final product, with its striking cover art and truly wonderful narrator, Joe Jameson, and cannot wait for people to hear Red Desert.”
