Avon has signed two new deals with Jules Wake and Bella Osborne, writers originally discovered by digital-first imprint HarperImpulse.
Editor Charlotte Ledger bought world rights for Escape to the Riveria by Wake from Broo Doherty at DHH Literary Agency and Osborne's new four book series Willow Cottage from Kate Nash at Kate Nash Literary Agency.
Wake and Osborne were both originally published by HarperImpulse in digital and paperback format. Wake has seen success with her summer hit From Italy With Love hitting the Kindle bestseller charts while Osborne’s It Started at Sunset Cottage was nominated for both a RoNA award and the Joan Hessayon award for new writers by the Romantic Novelists’ Association.
Avon has partnered with Impulse to add Wake to its seasonal list and has developed a new digital series with Osborne, both of which will be published in July.
Wake’s new summer read, Escape to the Riviera, follows a woman reconnecting with her Hollywood "heartthrob" husband set against the "glamourous" backdrop of the French Riviera. Osborne will write a four book seasonal series, Willow Cottage, about a young mother who restores a charming cottage in the Cotswolds’ countryside and finds love along the way.
Avon’s editorial director, Helen Huthwaite, said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome two authors as talented as Jules and Bella to Avon. They have already proved their talent ten-fold on the HarperImpulse list under the talented eye of Charlotte Ledger, and we are hugely excited about what the future holds for them both as part of Avon.”
