HarperCollins has bought two more books from Northern Irish author Claire Allan.
Avon Books’ senior commissioning editor Phoebe Morgan acquired world all language rights to two more thrillers from Ger Nichol at The Book Bureau.
Allan's first book with Avon, Her Name Was Rose was published in June before becoming a USA Today bestseller, the publisher said, while her second novel Apple of My Eye will be published next January.
Allan began with commercial women's fiction and wrote her first novel in 2006, published by Dublin-based independent Poolberg Press, before switching to psychological suspense for Avon.
“I am so delighted with the opportunity to continue working with the hugely talented Claire Allan,” Morgan said. “The reader response to Her Name Was Rose has been amazing – Claire’s voice has a way of getting under people’s skin and resonating with them.”
Allan spent 18 years as a journalist with the Derry Journal before becoming an author.
