Avon has bought two more books from journalist and author Caroline Corcoran.
Editorial director Phoebe Morgan negotiated a deal for world English rights with Diana Beaumont at Marjacq Scripts.
The first book in the new contract is scheduled for publication next autumn and centres on a woman who leaves her new born baby in a UK hospital room, then wakes up abroad, masquerading as a single, carefree traveller. Meanwhile, back home, her husband has started a manhunt – but this mother does not want to be found.
Morgan said: “I’m so pleased to have signed up two more books from Caroline. She gets right to the heart of the myriad of issues women face, and deals with serious subjects with amazing commercial flair, creating stand-out, memorable characters and dark, hooky plots that reel you in and don’t let you go. I can’t wait for her career to go from strength to strength here at Avon and am incredibly proud of everything she has achieved so far.”
Corcoran is a freelance lifestyle and popular culture writer and editor with 15 years’ experience who has worked for magazines, newspapers and websites and also as a copywriter for brands and websites. Avon released her debut Through The Wall in October, which hit the Sunday Times top 20, followed by The Baby Group on 17th September
She said: “Avon feels like my natural publishing home and I can’t wait to publish two more books with this brilliant (and now award winning!) imprint. I’m also delighted to continue working with such smart editors in Phoebe Morgan and Helen Huthwaite and hope to reach even bigger audiences.”
