Richard Flanagan backlist moves to Vintage

Richard Flanagan’s entire oeuvre is to be published under the same roof for the first time at Vintage imprint Chatto & Windus.

The Australian author moved to Chatto for his sixth novel, The Narrow Road to the Deep North, which won the Man Booker Prize in 2014. His earlier five novels were previously published by Picador and Atlantic. 

Death of a River Guide (1994, Atlantic), The Sound of One Hand Clapping (1997, Picador), Gould’s Book of Fish (2001, Atlantic), The Unknown Terrorist (2006, Atlantic) and Wanting (2008, Atlantic) will all move to the Vintage paperback list on 26th May 2016, priced £8.99 in paperback and e-book.

Beth Coates, editorial director for Vintage, said: "One of the (many) extraordinary aspects of Richard’s writing is its scope and breadth. He writes as assuredly, beautifully and movingly about a Japanese POW camp in WWII as he does about a post 9/11 Sydney, and it’s an honour for us at Vintage to be publishing his works, in their entirety, under one roof for the first time."
