Barrington Stoke has acquired world rights to a novella by Meg Rosoff, the winner of the 2016 Astrid Lindgren Memorial award.
Good Dog McTavish is about a rescue dog who is on a mission to sort out the Peachey family, whose mum has resigned from being mum and taken up yoga instead. It will be published with illustrations by Grace Easton in April 2017 on Barrington Stoke’s Conkers list.
Editor Emma Hargrave struck the deal with Catherine Clarke of the Felicity Bryan Agency.
“We are enormous fans of Meg Rosoff’s wry, witty and wise take on contemporary life,” said Mairi Kidd, m.d. of Barrington Stoke. “Good Dog McTavish is classic Meg – warm, funny and thought-provoking. To top it off, there’s an utterly marvellous dog at the heart of the story – and what a heart it is.”
