BBC Books, part of Ebury Publishing, has signed the debut book from Will Kirk, the resident woodworking expert on “The Repair Shop”.
Publishing director Albert DePetrillo acquired world rights to Restore from Heather Winstanley at Insanity Group. It will be publish on 18th July 2024, billed as “an inspirational guide to the principles of woodworking, restoration and maintaining items around your home”.
DePetrillo said: “Will Kirk is a rare talent, not only a master of his craft but brilliant at communicating the joys of restoration. That joy comes through on every page of his book, making it a process accessible to anyone. Restore is a celebration of skills and craft, and also a book that encourages you to slow down and enjoy what’s right in front of you. We’re thrilled to be publishing Will’s first book at Ebury.”
Kirk said: “Restore is a guide for anyone interested in learning more about furniture restoration and the key tips and tricks of the trade that have got me to where I am today. From quick fixes to examples of larger projects, this is everything you need to know to start your restoration journey.”
