TV rights for 'chilling' Bervoets novel scooped by Quay Street at auction
Quay Street Productions has won TV rights to Hanna Bervoets’ novel We Had to Remove this Post in a six-way auction.
The deal was made with Rosie Gurtovoy and Jonathan Sissons at PFD. Quay Street Productions is planning to adapt the novel with the original Dutch title The Things We Saw.
The bookwas published in the Netherlands earlier this month by Uitgeverij Pluim. Picador will publish in the UK in May 2022 and HMH Books will publish in the US.
We Had to Remove this Post is Bervoets' eighth novel and is billed as a "chilling, powerful and urgent story about who or what determines our worldview, examining the toxic world of content moderators. It explores morality and how our morals are fluid, constantly changing depending on where and with whom we are." It has been translated into English by Emma Rault.
