New company Empty Room Productions has optioned The Blackheath Séance Parlour (Cutting Edge Press, 2013) by Alan Williams. Empty Room Productions is owned by actress Eve Myles, star of TV's "Keeping Faith".
Myles acquired TV rights from Lisa Moylett at the Coombs Moylett Maclean Literary Agency.
The Blackheath Séance Parlour follows two sisters who practice the dark arts in Victorian London. The gothic novel has murder, vampires and spirits.
Williams has worked in film and television for most of his life and this is his first novel. He commented: "I am incredibly excited to be in the creative hands of people whose work I have admired for many years. I can already close my eyes to see and hear what I know will be a rich and dazzling interpretation of the characters and plot. Everything feels right about this. I could not have wished for a more talented, inspiring and enthusiastic team."
Myles added: “We are very much looking forward to bringing this thrilling story and beguiling characters to the screen.”
