Blink Publishing, a commercial non-fiction imprint of Bonnier Books UK, has acquired The Snack Hacker by the content creator, comedian and cook George Egg.
Senior editor Joe Hallsworth acquired world all language rights from David Luxton of David Luxton Associates, and the book will be published in hardback and e-book on 5th June 2025 by Blink.
George Egg is the recent winner of "Content Creator of the Year" at the Fortnum and Mason Food and Drink Awards 2024, and is known as the "Snack Hacker". His channel started as a lockdown project and became a full-time pursuit.
"In his first recipe book, George delivers delights that will appeal as much to the food-fanatic as they will to the culinary curious—a crash course for the undiscovered gourmand and a reminder to the seasoned foodie that it’s OK to have fun in the kitchen," the synopsis says. "It’s described as an inspiring approach to unpretentious cooking whether you’re a professional chef, a home cook or a kitchen-shy greedy-guts."
The author said: "What a joy it is that the lovely folk at Blink share my vision of this cookbook; a natural progression from my online videos that appear to have brought me to the public’s attention. Obsessed with and genuinely proud of the ideas I’ve come up with I can’t wait to put into print the recipes and the stories around them and to inspire my readers and fellow foodies to think outside the culinary box. It’s even more exciting to be creating what promises to be a very beautiful book with the help of my illustrator, designer and son, Jem Ward (the ever present camera-person in the online videos)."
Hallsworth added: "I’ve been an enormous fan of George’s ‘Snack Hacker’ output for years and so I’m beyond excited to be publishing his first recipe book. The Snack Hacker will bring George’s boundless creativity, ingenuity, energy and anarchic spirit to the page and I can’t wait for this to become a well-thumbed, sauce-stained, kitchen staple for years to come."
