Blink Publishing, an imprint of Bonnier Books UK, has won an “inspirational” memoir from businesswoman and influencer Lottie Tomlinson in a seven-way auction.
Publishing director Ciara Lloyd is editing and publishing the memoir originally acquired by Susannah Otter for UK and Commonwealth rights, excluding Canada, from Kate Evans at PFD. It will publish on 1st August.
Lucky Girl: Family, Falling and Finding My Way is billed as “an incredible story of resilience and hope” which navigates “the highs of touring with her brother Louis as a make-up artist with One Direction, to the devastating lows of losing her mother to leukemia when she was just 18 years old and then her beloved sister three years later”.
The publisher said: “Going behind the glamour and the fame, Lottie’s beautiful memoir explores the roller-coaster of her life, from the darkest days and loneliest nights to the success she found despite it all, and how all the challenges and setbacks have led her to where she is today. Heartbreaking yet inspirational, Lottie hopes that in telling her story and how she has navigated the pain and grief in her life that she will provide hope for others going through their darkest times.”
Tomlinson has a social media following of five million and a tanning brand, Tanologist. She has previously worked with Dior Beauty and Givenchy as well as ASOS and Boux Avenue. She is a patron of bereavement charity Sue Ryder and has spoken in parliament alongside Dr Rosena Allin-Khan MP about shaping policies to provide more access to grief counselling.
She said: "I am so excited to be sharing Lucky Girl with the world. This book is my story from the start, the ups the downs and everything in between. This book means so much to me, it’s deep from the heart and I hope it can inspire people to find light in the dark times.”
