Bloomsbury Children’s Books has acquired four more books by Sibéal Pounder, author of the Witch Wars series.
Editorial director Ellen Holgate bought the world rights to a fifth Witch Wars title, Witch Glitch, as well as three books in a new series, entitled Bad Mermaids, which is set in a neighbouring world to Witch Wars. The deal was truck with Pounder’s agent, Gemma Cooper of the Bent Agency.
Witch Glitch will publish in October 2016, whilst the first book in the Bad Mermaids series, also called Bad Mermaids, will follow in March 2017.
Holgate said: “I am thrilled to have signed four more terrific books from our bestselling debut author of last year. Sibéal is a rising star of children's fiction, writing with a unique brand of humour and a fresh take on everything she touches. Her Witch Wars series has been an incredible journey and the mayhem will continue apace in Bad Mermaids.”
