Bloomsbury has snapped up Real Life Recipes by Tom Kerridge, the 10th title it will be publishing with the chef.
World rights were acquired in a deal with Borra Garson at Deborah McKenna Limited. The book will be published on 1st September on the Bloomsbury cookery list, under the Bloomsbury Absolute imprint.
"I hope this book will mean there’s one less thing on your list to stress about," he said. "Just get stuck in and enjoy the madness."
Kerridge worked as a chef in restaurants across Britain before deciding to set out on his own and take over a rundown pub in the Buckinghamshire town of Marlow. He opened The Hand & Flowers with his wife Beth, a sculptor, in 2005 and it went on to become the first and only pub in the world to acquire two Michelin stars.
His previous books with Bloomsbury include Proper Pub Food, Tom Kerridge’s Best Ever Dishes, Tom Kerridge’s Dopamine Diet, Lose Weight For Good, The Hand & Flowers Cookbook and his most recent bestseller, Outdoor Cooking. Combined, they have sold more than 1.5 million copies to date, according to the publisher.
"In Real Life Recipes, Kerridge shares fantastic food with no stress," the synopsis explains. "From Monday lunch to Sunday dinner, this book is filled with hardworking recipes for anyone who is short on time but still craving flavour and variety from their weekly menu. With his trademark down-to-earth charm, Tom passes on the tips and tricks he’s learned in professional kitchens to help you cook in real life."
Publishing director Rowan Yapp said: "This book is like having Tom with you in the kitchen, sleeves rolled up and apron on, demoing incredibly tasty week-round recipes. In four simple chapters, Tom shows us how to make high-flavour, quick-win meals, whatever real life looks like for us."
"Tom’s inspirational new cookbook is perfectly matched to the times in which we live," added Jon Croft, Bloomsbury’s cookery publisher-at-large. "Times when daily stress needs to be kept to a minimum and joy and satisfaction in the kitchen demands to be ramped up to 11 on the flavour scale. With giant culinary hugs and gentle hand holding Tom helps the home cook discover brilliant new ways to conjure up stress-free meals of unmatched deliciousness."
