Bloomsbury is to publish the "definitive" companion book to accompany the Natural History Museum's upcoming exhibition, "Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder of Nature", in collaboration with Warner Bros. Pottermore Publishing will publish the e-book.
The exhibition, which will open on the 9th December 2020 and run until August 2021, will celebrate the wonders of nature, science and adventure by bringing together real-world animals, mythical creatures and their fictional counterparts from J K Rowling’s Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts books and films.
Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder of Nature will explore the exhibits on the page alongside scientists, campaigners and pioneering naturalists, examining the links between the magic of J K Rowling’s creatures and the astonishing real-world wildlife that has roamed our planet throughout history, says the publisher.
Sir Ranulph Fiennes has written a foreword and each chapter will begin with an original essay by a writer, environmental expert or natural history scientist, who will offer their own insight into the exhibition.
The hardback edition will be published on 26th November 2020 and will be available to buy at the exhibition as well as bookshops across the UK and Ireland. The e-book will be published simultaneously and will be available globally.
