Bloomsbury has signed a global two-book deal with American YA author Brigid Kemmerer.
Mary Kate Castellani, executive editor at Bloomsbury in the US, bought world rights from Mandy Hubbard at Emerald City Literary Agency to the first book in a new fantasy series, tentatively titled Defy the Night, and the third novel in the Cursebreaker series.
“Brigid is a master storyteller who crafts stories so rich with emotion and page-turning action,” said Castellani. “The Cursebreaker series, with its foothold in the real world, has inspired fervent love in both fantasy and contemporary readers alike. Her fans are in for another treat with Defy the Night, a heart-pounding story with incredible stakes.”
Publication of the third Cursebreaker novel is scheduled for Winter 2021, with Defy the Night coming in Spring 2021.
