Bloomsbury has snapped up a new air fryer cookbook by TikTok’s professional chef Poppy O’Toole. Rowan Yapp, head of Bloomsbury Lifestyle, acquired world rights all languages to Poppy Cooks: The Actually Delicious Air Fryer Cookbook directly from the author.
In the book, which Bloomsbury will be publishing on 31st August 2023, O’Toole aims to show readers how to get the most out of the air fryer through 100 recipes. The book includes recipes for staples such as chicken wings, mac and cheese and brownies, as well as an a range of other options, from roasted med veg to dippy eggs.
Her previous book, Poppy Cooks: The Food You Need, was published in September 2021, and received praise from Nigella Lawson, Rukmini Iyer and Ben Lebus.
O’Toole is a professional chef who was made redundant during Covid, and rose to TikTok fame with her recipe videos during this country’s lockdown. With 4.1 million followers on the app alone, the food influencer’s aim is to teach her viewers how to use "the skills she’s learnt from fancy restaurants" while cooking at home.
Yapp said: "This is the only air fryer book that foodies are going to need in their lives."
O’Toole added: "In this book, you will learn how to cook dishes packed with flavour, with accessible ingredients and recipes that are easy to follow – all made in your air fryer.
"With my years as professional chef and now teaching millions online, I know how to make good food. Yet you can’t ignore energy costs at an all-time high and ingredients getting pricier by the day, so I’ve made it my mission to make sure good food is accessible to everyone."
