Bluebird has picked up an “inspirational and creative” DIY guide from “The Repair Shop” star Jay Blades.
Publisher Carole Tonkinson acquired world rights to DIY with Jay from Charlotte Robertson of the Robertson Murray Literary Agency. The guide will publish on 15th September 2022.
“DIY with Jay is the must-have, four-colour companion to creating the home you have dreamed of,” the publisher said. “Whatever your budget, skillset and previous track record of DIY disasters, Jay will enthusiastically and warmly walk you through the process of planning, designing and making your perfect home a reality.”
The synopsis reads: “There is no better person than Jay to hold your hand through your DIY journey. With his impressive background in furniture restoration and experience as presenter of outstandingly successful BBC show, Jay has techniques and tips for a huge range of DIY projects, from floating shelves and repairing tiles to hallway storage solutions and folding window shutters. The book will break down his expert advice room by room so you will no doubt be inspired to transform your entire home before you finish reading.”
Blades, author of Making It (Bluebird) which is out in paperback this May, said: “I am over the moon to be working with the Bluebird team again and publishing DIY with Jay, which I hope will empower lots of people to give their house a fresh, cool image only they could create.”
Tonkinson added: “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Jay again, this time bringing his inspirational and creative take on DIY to life in a beautiful four-colour format.”
