Bluebird has snapped up a new book by the writer and activist Ellen Jones, titled Loud and Queer: Why the Fight for LGBTQ+ Equality Is Not Won, and What You Can Do About It.
Jodie Lancet-Grant, associate publisher, acquired world rights to the title from Anna Pallai at AMP Literary. Loud and Queer will publish in early 2025.
The book is described as a guide to showing up meaningfully in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. The synopsis continues: “Loud and Queer charts a course to a better future. It will give readers not only a deeper understanding of the challenges LGBTQ+ people are facing today, but also practical, actionable steps everyone can take to fight toward equality.”
Lancet-Grant said: “I could not be prouder to have acquired Loud and Queer as my first acquisition for Bluebird.”
Jones added: “It’s a joy and a privilege to work with a publisher so committed to showing up for LGBTQ+ people, especially at a time when our existence is under attack. Loud and Queer will not only serve as a call to action, but a celebration of the resilience and resistance of those who are taking a stand.”
