Bluebird sweeps in for two from tidying guru Kondo

Bluebird has swept in for Marie Kondo’s first ever English language photographic book alongside a planner book from the bestselling tidiness guru.

Publisher Carole Tonkinson acquired UK and Commonwealth English language rights to Kurashi at Home: How to Organize Your Space and Achieve Your Ideal Life plus The Marie Kondo Tidying Companion: A Planner to Spark Joy and Organize Your Life from Neil Gudovitz at The Gudovitz & Co Literary Agency.

The publisher said: “Kurashi at Home introduces the Japanese concept of ‘kurashi’, defined by Marie Kondo as ‘the ideal way of spending one’s time’, or one’s ideal lifestyle. In beautiful pages packed with stunning photography, the tidying guru explains how by focusing on what you do rather than the space itself, even the smallest of dwellings can be transformed into places that spark joy. She urges readers never to give up on their dream home, and shows how her KonMari method can help carve out calm in a chaotic world.”

Kurashi at Home will publish in in November 2022 with The Marie Kondo Tidying Companion out in early January 2023. Bluebird described the latter book as a planner and workbook complete with prompts, step-by-step how-to guides, top tips from Kondo and space to record personal comments and feelings, helping readers better understand their habits.
