Boldwood has acquired books by 15 more authors, including fiction writers Alex Brown, Julie Houston and Emma Burstall, alongside dark thriller writers Rona Halsall and Saskia Sarginson.
To further enhance its historical fiction offering, the publisher has also acquired new titles by Clare Marchant, Carly Schabowski and Rachel Brimble, as well as Victoria Darke, Alex Weston and Richard Cullen.
Bringing their romantic fiction to the list are Kate Hewitt and debut writer Darcy McGuire. Meanwhile, Fiona Walker is turning to cosy crime for Boldwood, while Rob Sinclair is bringing his action thriller series, featuring the character James Ryker, to the company (Bloodhound Books) for both frontlist and backlist publishing.
World English-language rights were acquired for all the books, and world all rights were acquired for the titles by Brimble, Cullen, Halsall, Hewitt, Sinclair and Weston. All authors have been contracted on multi-book deals and will be published in every format simultaneously in all English-language territories.
With the aim of extending its global reach, Boldwood has also formed two new European partnerships. The publisher is collaborating with City Editions in Paris to bring a range of Boldwood titles to the French market. In addition, it is creating Boldwood Books NL with the Dutch publisher House of Books, planning a schedule of more than 30 titles each year from across the list over the next three years.
Founder and chief executive Amanda Ridout said: "As we approach our fifth birthday, and pass the 22 million copies sold milestone, we are thrilled to be welcoming such a range of extraordinary writers into the Boldwood family to add to our existing stellar roster of authors. And now, with our new partnerships in France and in the Netherlands, we are able to connect them not just with an English-language global audience, but with French and Dutch readers too. We also hope to be extending the number of European partnerships in the near future."
