Perminder Mann, c.e.o., Bonnier Publishing UK, claimed Bonnier Publishing was "the only publisher with strong expertise across both trade and mass markets" and therefore "ideally positioned" to take Disney's publishing to "the next level".
“Disney is one of the world’s leading children’s brands and so we’re naturally thrilled to be working with them to bring their books to an even wider audience than before," said Mann.
"We firmly believe in ‘publishing for everyone’ and, as the only publisher with strong expertise across both trade and mass markets, we’re ideally positioned to take Disney’s publishing to the next level.”
A range of tie-in books based on the new Disney film, Coco, will launch in early 2018 followed by a full roll out in spring/ summer 2018, ahead of the release of The Incredibles 2, the follow-up to 2004 blockbuster The Incredibles.
The deal follows the appointment of Paul Gregory as the new chief executive of Igloo Books Group this summer, who in his previous role as former president and c.o.o. of Parragon was credited with signing the Disney master publishing licence in the UK in 2004.
