Bookouture has acquired two psychological thrillers from Helen H Durrant, who has also been published by Joffe Books.
Associate publisher Helen Jenner acquired world all-languages, audio, film and TV rights direct from the author. Both books will be published in 2025. Durrant is the author of 29 crime thrillers for Joffe Books and has sold over 1.5 million copies of her books, according to the publisher. She has also been a number one Kindle bestseller.
Durrant said: “I’m thrilled to bits to be working with Bookouture on my new venture into the exciting realm of psychological thrillers – a particular speciality of Bookouture’s, with many successes under their belt. Since I ran the idea past her, my editor has been so supportive and as enthusiastic as I am. I’m sure we’ll make a great team and I can’t wait to get started.”
Jenner added: “I’ve been a fan of Helen’s police procedurals for many years and her rise to the top of the Amazon charts has been incredibly impressive. It’s clear why her books sell so well – she always delivers relatable protagonists, fast-paced stories and killer twists her audience never sees coming. I think her writing is perfect for psychological thrillers, and I’m over the moon to be working with on two outstanding new books.”
The announcement is the latest of several significant acquisitions of self-published authors who have recently signed with Bookouture including J M Dalgliesh, J D Kirk, Willow Rose and Daniel Hurst.
