Digital publisher Bookouture has signed self-published author J M Dalgliesh for four thrillers.
Commissioning editor Rhianna Louise acquired world all-language, audiobook, film and TV rights direct from the author, and the books will be published in 2024 and 2025.
Louise said: "I could not be more thrilled to be welcoming J M Dalgliesh to Bookouture. Millions of devoted fans, me included, are addicted to his atmospheric, pulse-pounding mysteries with their breathtaking locations and jaw-dropping reveals. I can’t wait to publish two utterly gripping psychological thrillers in 2024 and two high-concept crime novels in 2025."
Dalgliesh added: "I’m excited to have the opportunity to partner with one of the most successful teams in publishing, here at Bookouture."
Bookouture said more than two million copies of Dalgliesh’s books have been sold globally. The publisher reported "significant double-digit growth" across all formats this year, surpassing 70 million unit sales. It has also seen significant sales growth in its translation publishing. Bookouture Deutschland has now published 120 titles. The publisher also launched a small Italian list in 2023 and will be launching a French publishing list in 2024.
