Bookouture signs three more thrillers by Gibney

Digital publisher Bookouture has signed three more crime thrillers from Patricia Gibney whose debut The Missing Ones has sold almost half a million copies since its release in March this year.

Jenny Geras, publishing director at Bookouture, acquired world English rights from Ger Nichol at The Book Bureau to the three titles.

Gibney’s debut The Missing Ones published with Bookouture in March this year and has since gone on to sell nearly 500,000 copies, the publisher said. She has also released The Stolen Girls through the publisher and her next novel The Lost Child is due for release on 27th October.

Bookouture, which was only founded in 2012, was bought by Hachette for an undisclosed sum earlier this year and Hachette division Little, Brown plans to publish The Missing Ones in trade paperback in February 2018, to be followed by a mass market paperback in summer 2018.

Geras said: “This series has got off to the most incredible start. Readers adore Detective Lottie Parker, Patricia’s hard-living and emotionally troubled heroine. We are thrilled to be publishing three more books in the series.”

Gibney said she was “thrilled” to continue writing for Bookouture and added her readers so far had given her the confidence to continue writing. “I look forward to creating new stories and mysteries featuring Lottie, her family and her colleagues,” Gibney said. “The town of Ragmullin is in for a torrid time!
