Boxtree has acquired a book from Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt: Scarlett Says.
Pan Macmillan/Boxtree acquired UK Commonwealth rights (excluding Canada) from Julian Alexander at Lucas Alexander Whitley.
The book will be "a shocking, eye opening and very, very funny look at modern life", as Moffatt - hailed by her publishers as "one of the most popular women on television" - will write about everything from selfies to the tooth fairy, thigh gaps and dodgy Tinder pics.
Editor Jamie Coleman said: "Anyone who’s watched Gogglebox knows that Scarlett is one of the funniest people in the country. I’m pleased to report her voice is just as hilarious, sharp and insightful on the page as it is on screen. I think lots of people are going to enjoy hearing what Scarlett says.”
Moffatt, who has 435,000 fans across social media, said: “I’m lucky enough to be on a TV programme that celebrates the opinions of ordinary people. But since I’ve been on the telly, every week I get people asking me if I want to lose weight or gain weight to be in the press. I decided enough was enough, so I wanted to write a book that celebrates all the mad stuff me and my mates say, rather than what we ate that week, or who we snogged. It’s basically the best night out ever, without the kebab in your hair the next morning.”
Scarlett Says will be published by Boxtree on April 21st 2016.
